East Branch Muddy Creek Interceptor

Project Overview

This project anticipates relocation and replacement of approximately 32,100 feet of the East Branch Muddy Creek Interceptor which ranges from 15 inches to 24 inches in diameter, replacement, and possible consolidation, of four (4) pump stations, and relocation of eleven (11) combined sewer overflows (CSOs).

These assets, are located within the floodplain of the Ohio River east of the Muddy Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), are subject to river intrusion during high river stages and wet weather events. In addition, most of this interceptor is under capacity and many sections are in poor structural condition.
